Ruby the Dog needs a home
Ruby is a nine year old Minpin, a typical minpin in many ways. She will need a minpin savvy home, preferably with another little dog as company. She does okay with cats, but I would recommend a non-cat home. I have a few cats that are dog savvy (raised from birth by a Rottweiler mix), who just look at her until she runs away. She’s all bully with cats, and no substance. The cats that run – she will chase and then walk around like she’s all that.
She seems a bit uncomfortable with larger dogs – it took her quite some time to be comfortable around my large dogs, but seems fine with smaller to medium dogs. I would not recommend any large dogs.
In her typical minpin way, she does love to be treated like a Queen. She will reach out her paw and pull your hand to her to be petted and scratched. She is not shy about this. In fact, she is quite demanding of the attention. Just try to stop and she will grab on to your hand and carry it to her.
She is very teeny-tiny, but a chunky monkey too. She loves to eat and is very treat driven. She will sit and lay down for a treat.
She is very loving, loves to cuddle, and, because she is too small to get on the bed, she demands to be picked up for bedtime – she sleeps in bed. She sleeps throughout the night and will let me know in the morning when she is ready to do her business and be carried off of the bed.
Due to her size and her demanding nature, she will not do well with kids, of any age. She will do well in an adult only household. Being the typical minpin she is, she feels she has to trust and respect you. She will need time to develop trust and respect for you. Her little world was quite shaken when she was dumped at the shelter for age.
If you are looking for a wonderful little companion with a ton of personality, then Ruby is for you.
